Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Analyst / Tax Accountant to support the company's recurring tax compliance and reporting activities across monthly, quarterly and fiscal year end cycles. The role will coordinate preparation, collection of source documentation, filers and system entries, liaise with internal stakeholders and external advisors, and help maintain timely and accurate tax filings using company tax systems. This position is ideal for a candidate with strong technical tax knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and proven ability to manage recurring deliverables and ad hoc requests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute recurring tax compliance tasks across monthly, quarterly and fiscal year-end cycles, ensuring deadlines are met and filings are accurate.
  • Prepare and maintain tax schedules and workpapers required for corporate, and other periodic tax filings.
  • Track task timelines: establish and update starting dates, due dates, and frequency for each recurring filing or submission.
  • Identify, request and collect source information from business units and other internal stakeholders: specify required documents, contact names, and contact emails; follow up to secure timely delivery.
  • Complete filing activities using established filing methods (electronic portal, e-file, paper submission) and ensure confirmations / acknowledgements are captured and filed.
  • Reconcile filings to accounting records and assist with journal entries related to tax accruals and payments.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing requested documentation, responding to queries, and maintaining an organized archive of tax files and correspondence.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant tax experience in a corporate tax department, accounting firm, or tax advisory role (adjustable depending on level of hire).
  • Familiarity with recurring tax processes for monthly, quarterly and annual returns (income tax, VAT/GST/sales tax, withholding taxes, regulatory filings).
  • Hands-on experience with tax compliance software and general accounting systems
  • (experience with common tax platforms, ERP systems, or filing portals is a plus).
  • Strong Excel skills; experience with data extraction, reconciliation and analysis.
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to manage multiple deadlines, tasks and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to draft clear information requests and follow-up messages to internal and external contacts.
  • Detail-oriented with high level of accuracy and good judgement.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be bilingual; English and French speaking


Additional Information

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is CAD 75000 - 90000. Final compensation within this range will be determined by factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity. This range does not include variable pay or other components of Rexel's total rewards package.
