Purpose of Role
Responsible for supporting the Company's federal, state, and local tax accounting and compliance functions, with a primary focus on C-Corporation and partnership taxation. Serves as a subject matter resource for tax-related matters, supports ASC 740 tax accounting processes, participates in tax planning and research initiatives, and assists with audit responses while ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
• Manages corporate and partnership federal, state, and local tax compliance activities, ensuring accurate and timely filings.
• Prepares and supports tax accounting calculations and reporting requirements, including ASC 740 income tax provision analyses.
• Prepares and reviews quarterly estimated taxable income calculations and related tax payment requirements.
• Leads and participates in special projects involving corporate taxation, flow-through entities, accounting methods, and tax accounting matters.
• Coordinates research and resolution of complex federal, state, and local tax issues, including credits, incentives, and other tax-saving opportunities.
• Conducts tax research on emerging legislation, regulatory developments, and technical tax matters, providing recommendations to management.
• Prepares and reviews miscellaneous indirect tax filings and related supporting documentation.
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal business partners, external advisors, auditors, and tax service providers.
• Responds to tax-related inquiries from internal stakeholders and provides guidance on tax implications of business activities.
• Maintains current knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and industry developments impacting the organization.
• Assists with tax audits by gathering documentation, researching technical issues, and preparing responses to federal and state taxing authorities.
• Supports compliance with Tax Receivable Agreement (TRA) requirements and basis tracking associated with the Company's Up-C organizational structure.

Qualifications
Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in corporate tax compliance, tax accounting, and consulting within the financial services industry, public accounting, or a related environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state corporate income taxation, partnership taxation, and tax compliance requirements.
• Experience preparing or supporting ASC 740 income tax provisions and related tax accounting processes.
• Understanding of accounting methods, tax research methodologies, and tax planning concepts.
• Knowledge of Up-C organizational structures, Tax Receivable Agreements (TRAs), and tax basis tracking.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex tax concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and effectively partner with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial and tax reporting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and contribute effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($85,000 - $105,000) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate's work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
