Job Title: Tax Accountant - Public Accounting Firm
Location: Hammonton, New Jersey
Type: Direct Hire
Compensation: $110,000 - $150,000 annually + bonus
Work Model: Onsite

What You'll Do:
  • Prepare and review complex federal and state tax returns for individuals, corporations, S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other entities.
  • Manage a portfolio of tax clients and serve as a primary point of contact.
  • Work directly with business owners and high-net-worth individuals on tax planning and consulting.
  • Research federal and state tax laws and provide practical recommendations.
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop proactive planning strategies.
  • Review financial statements, accounting records, and tax workpapers for accuracy and compliance.
  • Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with audits and other tax matters.
  • Review the work of other tax professionals and provide guidance and mentoring.
  • Help identify ways to improve workflow, technology, and internal processes.
  • Work with firm leadership on client service and business development initiatives.

You'll get to know the people behind the businesses-not just the tax file. That means your work can involve everything from annual tax compliance to entity structure, tax planning, business transactions, retirement considerations, and other financial decisions that affect your clients.

What We're Looking For:

We're looking for an experienced public accounting tax professional who wants to take the next step in responsibility and client service.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • 6+ years of recent public accounting experience with a strong tax focus.
  • CPA license or active pursuit of CPA licensure. Minimum Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong experience with individual, corporate, partnership, and S corporation tax returns.
  • Experience with tax planning and consulting for privately held businesses and/or high-net-worth individuals.
  • Experience reviewing tax work and providing guidance to other professionals.
  • Strong technical research and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and tax/accounting software.
  • UltraTax and QuickBooks experience is a plus.


Compensation & Growth:

Base salary: $120,000-$150,000 annually
