The Talent Acquisition Specialist Sr is responsible for full life-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, and recommending the placement of staff by using creative internal and external methods. This role manages technical and non-technical exempt professional and management positions, with a particular focus on IT and Security recruiting. The position requires the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and to serve as a resource and mentor to less experienced talent acquisition team members. The specialist builds strong relationships with hiring managers and HR partners to ensure staffing goals are met and that the recruiting process remains effective, efficient, and compliant.
Responsibilities- Partner with hiring managers and HR Business Partners to determine staffing needs and develop effective recruiting strategies for assigned territories.
- Conduct full life-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening resumes, interviewing candidates by phone or in person, administering assessments, and completing reference and background checks.
- Recommend candidates for hire or non-hire and deliver employment offers for both exempt and nonexempt positions within assigned areas.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for recruiting candidates within an assigned territory, with emphasis on IT and Security roles.
- Use traditional and nontraditional sourcing methods such as career fairs, online job fairs, and community networking events to identify and attract high-quality candidates.
- Partner with Sourcing Specialists to present a diverse slate of qualified candidates to hiring managers.
- Manage the internal transfer process, including candidate screening, coordination of interviews with hiring managers, and preparation and delivery of transfer offer letters.
- Follow up with candidates and hiring managers to gather feedback and continuously improve the recruiting process and candidate experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients to ensure staffing goals are achieved.
- Communicate key employment information during offer delivery, including benefits, compensation, and any relevant agreements.
- Ensure onboarding and new hire orientation processes occur smoothly and in alignment with company standards.
- Work with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations, including affirmative action requirements.
- Manage current candidate activity within the applicant tracking system (ATS) and ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain application and resume files and ensure retention practices comply with company policy.
- Maintain memberships and affiliations with relevant trade and professional organizations to stay current with industry trends and best practices.
- Take the lead in the development of one or more annual Affirmative Action Plans.
- Identify, suggest, and help implement ongoing process improvements to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of the recruiting process.
- Support and guide less seasoned Talent Acquisition team members as a knowledgeable resource.
Essential Skills- Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
- Experience recruiting for technical and non-technical exempt professional and management positions.
- Five years of corporate experience in recruitment and placement of applicants in professional and management-level exempt roles.
- At least three years of experience working with electronic applicant tracking systems (ATS) and internet recruiting sources.
- Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and managing candidate activity within an ATS.
- Experience and capability in IT and Security recruiting (focus area for this role).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including affirmative action compliance.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and manage multiple requisitions and priorities.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with candidates, hiring managers, and HR partners, including delivering employment offers and explaining benefits and compensation.
- Valid driver's license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
- Human resources experience, including partnering with HR Business Partners and hiring managers.
- Technical recruiting experience, particularly in IT and Security domains.
- Experience using traditional and nontraditional sourcing methods such as career fairs, online job fairs, and community networking events.
- Experience leading or contributing to the development of Affirmative Action Plans.
- Memberships or affiliations with trade or professional organizations related to recruiting or human resources.
- Utility industry experience preferred.
- Interest in a long-term contract role with potential to transition to full-time employment, subject to business needs.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements in recruiting workflows.
Work EnvironmentThis is a remote position that offers the flexibility to work from home while supporting recruiting needs across multiple locations. The role requires the candidate to reside within approximately 50 miles of designated hub locations, including Columbus, Tulsa, Corpus Christi, and other specified sites, to allow for occasional travel to nearby facilities when needed. The position operates within a corporate environment that relies on electronic applicant tracking systems, internet-based recruiting tools, and virtual communication platforms to manage candidate pipelines and collaborate with hiring managers and HR partners. The contract includes benefits such as paid time off and holiday pay, and it is structured as a long-term engagement with the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment depending on organizational needs. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $41.15 - $44.00/hr.
