Brief description of duties:
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Talent Acquisition, the Talent Acquisition Manager will oversee the daily operations of the recruitment team, supervising and coaching recruiters, talent acquisition partners, and sourcers. This role is responsible for operationalizing the Talent Acquisition model across the campus. It will also be responsible for executing the institutional talent acquisition strategy, optimizing the recruitment lifecycle, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for both candidates and hiring managers, while leading that same transition for the current team.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on supervisory experience within a modern talent acquisition function, with a proven track record of strategically partnering with HR business partners and hiring managers to solve staffing challenges. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills, alongside the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The manager will build strong, collaborative relationships across academic and administrative departments to ensure hiring practices effectively support departmental and institutional needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment Operations & Execution: Manage the day-to-day full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring team workflows for job postings, sourcing, screening, and interviewing are efficient and effective.
  • Team Supervision & Coaching: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate a team of recruiters, talent acquisition partners, and sourcers. Provide ongoing feedback, resolve workload bottlenecks, and support professional development.
  • HR Business Partner & Hiring Manager Partnership: In coordination with our HR business partners, collaborate directly with department heads and hiring managers to understand specific staffing needs, provide guidance on recruitment best practices, and deliver tailored hiring solutions.
  • Sourcing & Pipeline Management: Guide the team in utilizing diverse sourcing channels (job boards, social media, professional networks, campus events) to maintain an active pipeline of qualified and diverse talent.
  • Employer Branding Implementation: Coordinate recruitment marketing efforts and ensure candidate-facing materials accurately reflect the institution's values, mission, and culture.
  • Diversity & Inclusion Initiatives: Execute and monitor recruitment practices designed to enhance workforce diversity, ensuring active outreach to underrepresented groups.
  • Metrics & Operational Reporting: Monitor key recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, source effectiveness, applicant quality) to evaluate team performance and provide data-driven recommendations for process improvements.
  • Compliance & Policy Interpretation: Ensure all team recruitment activities comply with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as institutional policies. Assist administrators and supervisors with interpreting employment policies.
  • Candidate Experience Management: Monitor candidate touchpoints from application through onboarding to ensure timely communication and a positive representation of the institution.
  • Vendor Coordination: Monitor the performance of external recruitment vendors and applicant tracking systems, working with procurement to address and resolve service issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Special Notes:
This is a Management Confidential position. This is a full time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
