Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

The Tactical Buyer will be responsible for the effective and timely execution of purchasing activities for an assigned group of commodities and/or assignments. This function shall strive to provide support required by the organization related to Supply Chain activities. Provides project support within the Supply Chain organization to novate and update the ERP.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Responsible for an assigned specific group of goods including the use of the ERP in support of a transition to a new system.
  • Coordinates with the suppliers to close off and novate all applicable purchase orders. Coordinates with Accounts Payable to enable on-time suppliers' payments.
  • Run reports and conduct forensic analysis of the past due POs coordinating the closures in the ERP.
  • Reviews all received requisitions of required goods and/or services for completeness: including but not limited to part numbers, descriptions, quantities, delivery dates, special terms and/or conditions, appropriate approvals, and the designated point of receipt.
  • Place orders and enter into contracts for procurement with approved Suppliers as necessary for required materials and/or services.
  • Document justification of purchase decisions and obtain procurement approval authority as necessary based upon the size and complexity of the materials and/or services being procured.
  • Monitor open transactions through completion/closing to ensure Suppliers meet their contractual obligations. Immediately address any circumstances that may cause delays or impact the Suppliers' capability to meet obligations to avoid or minimize impact on the company.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and assist in the training and development of Buyer(s) as assigned by Manager.
  • Become knowledgeable about company purchasing policies/procedures and continually monitor day-to-day activities for compliance.
  • Recommend changes to management as appropriate on policies and/or procedures to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.


Key Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Supply Chain, PO placement
  • Post-secondary education in business and/or Operations Materials Management
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English


Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP experience


Total Compensation Range (Base Salary + Annual Incentive plan) : $78,049 -$98,341
