Job Description

Systems Test Engineer (Bothell, WA)

As a Systems Test Engineer, you will be a member of the Philips Systems Engineering and Testing organization, reporting to the Manager of Prototyping, Test, and Verification. In this role, you will conduct testing and verification activities and develop new testing methods to help transform engineering concepts into practical, testable solutions within the Research & Development (R&D) and Test & Verification (T&V) laboratories. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across Research & Development, Product Development, Function Development, and Embedded Systems to conduct hands-on mechanical testing on Philips Oral Healthcare devices and equipment.

Your role:
  • Analyze system testing requirements and develop comprehensive test plans to ensure thorough coverage while adhering to regulatory and company standards. Execute system tests according to established procedures, documenting results and identifying deviations or anomalies for further investigation.
  • Perform complex testing and measurement activities, particularly for early-stage or unstable processes, in collaboration with product development project teams.
  • Evaluate test outcomes and deliver detailed reports with insights on system performance, recommending improvements to ensure compliance with industry standards. Support project teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis, documenting findings and contributing to issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define test objectives, scope, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality expectations. Support the development of new test methods, including optimizing testing approaches, creating benchtop setups, and performing measurement system analyses.
  • Develop and contribute to testing solutions and equipment deployed across global Philips testing laboratories
  • Create, maintain, and improve testing methods and measurement documentation, including schematics, setup diagrams, and instructions for use.


You're the right fit if:
  • You've acquired 2+ years of experience and/or familiarity with product development testing and verification. You possess strong problem-solving skills and have working knowledge utilizing problem-solving tools.
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Electric, Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and above listed experience
  • You've acquired 2+ years of experience in the field of test and verification within a product development OR hands-on prototype testing environment is highly preferred.
  • Experience related to the development of and testing of medical (FDA regulated) products is a plus (ISO13485, 21CFR820).
  • Ability to work 5 days within the office in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to work in a global R&D innovation environment and collaborate with Philips testing organizations in the U.S, Europe, and Asia.


How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office role.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in Washington is $83,000 to $131,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.
