We are searching for the best talent for a Systems Test Engineer position, to be located in Santa Clara, CA.

Purpose:

The Systems Test Engineer is responsible for system level testing and characterization of capital equipment products that consist of software, electrical, and electro-mechanical subsystems. You will participate with multi-functional teams to design, develop, and test groundbreaking medical devices! This is an excellent opportunity for you to have a key role bringing exciting new products to market while also providing the opportunity for professional growth!

You will understand the system from both a technical perspective and the user's viewpoint, and drive development and performance of the Monarch system. We are looking for a candidate who can work independently and function well within a team. The candidate is flexible, self-motivated, curious and passionate about revolutionizing the world of medical robotics.

Responsibilities
  • Develop complex test methods to accurately characterize and verify the system design against performance requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between clinical/marketing, program management, and the engineering design teams.
  • Serve as a cross-functional lead championing system performance characterization and Design Verification testing
  • Lead Design Verification phase for various New Product Development Projects
  • Provide guidance to junior members in the team
  • Perform testing, analyze results, and make data-based recommendations to the team.
  • Build prototypes and fixtures for data acquisition and analysis.
  • Work cross-disciplinarily to provide hands-on system troubleshooting and debugging.
  • Utilize sound engineering methods and documentation processes to perform design reviews and failure mode analyses.


Qualifications:

Education:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's or equivalent University Degree required: a focus in Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical or any related engineering field. Is strongly preferred. A Master's or equivalent in Biomedical, Electrical, Computer Science, Mechanical or any related engineering field is preferred.


Required:
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in industry or in a research environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, mechatronics, systems and sensors, and/or electronics and software.
  • Proven track record in leading Design Verification testing, performance characterization, and requirements management for a complex Product.
  • Proficiency in developing complex test methods including fixturing, and instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in statistics analysis.
  • Experience in developing automated or semi-automated test methods.
  • Experience in using Instrumentation and data acquisition systems for performance testing.
  • Intermediate Python or MATLAB coding experience.
  • Experience with Linux and development in Linux environments.
  • Experience in methodical problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of FDA and ISO regulations preferred (i.e. FDA CFR Part 820 and/or ISO
  • 13485).
  • Ability to work independently as well as on a multifunctional team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred:
  • Proficiency with Python, MATLab, SQL, or C++.
  • Experience with understanding Robotic Control Algorithms
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks.
  • Experience in the medical device industry.

  • May require up to 10% domestic and/or international travel to other locations and sites

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$106,000.00 - $170,200.00

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

This position is eligible to participate in the Company's long-term incentive program.

Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

Vacation -120 hours per calendar year

Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado -48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington -56 hours per calendar year

Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays -13 days per calendar year

Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year

Parental Leave - 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child

Bereavement Leave - 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year

Caregiver Leave - 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
