Job Overview & Responsibilities

This position will support the ULA Enterprise through driving test execution of launch vehicle systems. This candidate will report to the Airborne Systems and Development Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test leader. Responsibilities include:
  • Cross-functional technical integration on test requirement development, test scope, management of schedules, test article builds, instrumentation, logistics, test planning, and test house selection to execute the test.
  • Compliance with ULA processes governing test planning and execution, author and review test report summaries, test requirement documents, and SOWs and facilitate the release process of these documents.
  • Driving the development and technical convergence of test requirements, lead test integration efforts, establish test methods, and operational process development.
  • System Test trade study development and management.
  • Risk, issue, and opportunity management as it relates to the applicable test campaign.
  • Requirements verification activities, customer relationship communication, proposal support, and Gate Review preparation and execution.
  • Working with the cross-functional test team to generate and lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRR).
  • Being able to lead through influence to work with the broader organization.
  • Driving continuous improvement in test processes and automation.
  • Ensuring all testing complies with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field is required from an accredited college or university.
  • Approx. 40%Travel Required, more during test campaigns.
  • 4+ years of related Engineering experience.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering principles, requirements verification, and validation methods.
  • Understanding of test design, requirements, and operations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, trade study management, and risk management.
  • Good communicator, organized, develop schedules.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and background with previous development programs to design / build a new product from scratch or enhance an existing product is preferred.
  • Experience with system level design reviews or major gate reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.) and presenting to a diverse customer audience.
  • Experience with integrated system level testing Structural, Dynamic, Environmental, Propulsion).
  • Experience with instrumentation, sensors, and DAQ systems.
  • Familiarity with the Test-Like-You-Fly philosophy.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace/Defense systems.


Summary Salary Range (for ULA - Denveronly): $99,604.00 - $166,007.00
