Description & RequirementsAs a
Systems Software Engineer, you will help us shape and deliver the engine and platform technology supporting gameplay, animation, rendering, online, front end, and tools. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, own complex initiatives, and help our teams solve performance-sensitive systems challenges.
You will work three days per week at our EAV Studio in Burnaby, British Columbia, as part of our hybrid model, reporting to our Senior Software Engineer.Responsibilities- Guide our teams on platform capabilities, engine behaviour, and system-level tradeoffs.
- Help us define and deliver engine, platform, automation, and release strategies.
- Build shared solutions that enable our teams to design and ship scalable features.
- Improve performance, memory use, load times, stability, and developer workflows.
- Own systems initiatives from planning through delivery, including risks and technical KPIs.
- Partner with our franchise and central technology teams to share solutions and best practices.
Qualifications- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with large or performance-sensitive systems.
- Expertise in C++ and large, complex codebases.
- Knowledge of memory management, multithreading, runtime performance, and platform constraints.
- Experience with game engines, real-time systems, tooling, automation, or multi-platform development.
- Experience delivering complex systems end to end.
- Experience in utilizing AI-assisted development tools (e.g. coding agents) to rapid prototype, accelerate execution and automate workflows, with the ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code.
Pay Transparency - North AmericaCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The ranges listed below are what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting. If you reside in a different location, a recruiter will advise on the applicable range and benefits. Pay offered will be determined based on a number of relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
PAY RANGES* British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria) *$122,300 - $170,700 CAD
