Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Criticality, Trust and Assurance Engineering Lead to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The candidate for the Criticality, Trust and Assurance Lead should be a self-starter with a keen eye for detail as it relates to technical execution. The candidate should have demonstrated competency in the evaluation of Systems Engineering Technical Readiness Review (SETRR) for Research Development Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs. To be successful, the candidate must understand the importance of implementing Systems Security Engineering (SSE) early in the design phase of the engineering lifecycle. Early risk identification and mitigation is a key tenant in the proper integration of SSE into a Weapons System.

This position is responsible for assisting government and prime contractors in the identification process for Critical Program Information (CPI). The CPI identification process plays a vital role in the prioritization methodology for how SSE's depth in defense against adversary's techniques and tactics is systematically applied on key technologies and components. This position will also assist the government and prime contractors in the execution of Criticality Analysis (CA) for independent mission threads to accomplish defense in depth for Mission Critical Functions (MCFs) and Critical Components (CCs), as well. Being aware of the Anti-Tamper (AT) community's best practices and relevant publications such as the AT Technical Instruction Guide (TIG) and AT Framework is of the utmost importance. There will be 10 to 20% travel required to support this position

Required Skills and Education

  • Experience in developing organizational policies and procedures to support the U.S. Navy command-wide
  • Providing an analytical approach to solving complex security problems that can be documented and use in other Use-Cases
  • Familiarity with Critical Program Information Identification and Criticality Analysis (DoD Instruction 5200.39, Critical Program Information (CPI)
  • Familiarity with DoD Instruction 5200.44, Protection of Mission Critical) Functions to Achieve Trusted Systems and Networks (TSN),
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the content contained in Program Protection Plans
  • Travel to government site at Washington Navy Yard weekly, as needed
  • Skills in analysis, critical thinking, and technical problem solving


Preferred Skills and Education

  • INCOSE Certified System Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification
  • Experience with business capture and proposal strategy/authoring
  • Facilitating and leading growth of a business area
  • Experience within the U.S. Navy's Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) Office and the Strategic Weapon Systems
  • Actively hold a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Desired experience in digital engineering and model-based systems engineering principles and tools.
  • Models Based Systems Engineering certificate.
  • Master's degree in technical management, engineering, cybersecurity, or other technical discipline.
