Basic Requirements:
  • 20 years' experience as a system engineer
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
    • 5 additional years of experience as a system engineer may be substituted for a degree

Job Description:
  • The System Engineer shall be responsible for requirements engineering, integration planning, lifecycle management, and technical risk/issue mitigation across complex mission focused systems.
  • The position requires strong Linux CLI expertise and deep Jira Service Desk administration experience, with responsibility for driving cross - stakeholder alignment, maintaining disciplined configuration and change control, and producing clear, comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail are essential for guiding technical decisions and ensuring successful system delivery.

Required Experience:
  • Demonstrated proficiency navigating Linux systems using the Linux CLI
  • Experience eliciting, analyzing, validating, and documenting technical and functional requirements to ensure solutions meet stakeholder needs and align with mission objectives
  • Experience developing detailed integration strategies, coordinating cross team dependencies, and overseeing system integration activities to ensure seamless interoperability across components
  • Experience at identifying potential risks, evaluating impacts, creating mitigation plans, and tracking issues through resolution to maintain system stability
  • Proficient in maintaining disciplined configuration baselines, documenting changes, enforcing version control processes, and ensuring all modifications follow established governance procedures
  • Strong ability to collaborate with diverse technical and non - technical stakeholders, facilitating clear communication, alignment, and timely decision - making throughout the project lifecycle
  • Experienced in defining system lifecycle strategies, including development, deployment, maintenance, enhancement, and decommissioning phases to support long term program sustainability
  • Produces clear, comprehensive, and well-structured technical documentation, including diagrams, procedures, how-to guides, and reports that support engineering, operations, and compliance needs
  • Hands - on expertise designing, configuring, and maintaining Jira Service Desk projects, workflows, automation, permissions, and custom fields to optimize service delivery and operational efficiency
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail

  • Experience with Git Source Control System
Salary: $240,000 - $250,000 annually
