Systems Programmer III (Mainframe / DB2 for z/OS) for a hybrid opportunity for candidates in Columbia, SC. The Candidate will administer, maintain, and optimize IBM DB2 for z/OS within a complex enterprise mainframe environment, ensuring the stability, performance, and availability of mission-critical systems. This role partners with infrastructure and database teams to support software upgrades, troubleshoot production issues, enhance system performance, and contribute to disaster recovery and ongoing operational excellence.

Required Qualifications of the Systems Programmer III (Mainframe / DB2 for z/OS):
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to provide sponsorship or work with Third-Party agencies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience supporting IBM Mainframe environments with a focus on DB2 for z/OS systems programming.
  • Hands-on experience with IBM z/OS, DB2 for z/OS, SYSVIEW, and Broadcom (CA Technologies) or comparable IBM mainframe tools.
  • Experience installing, upgrading, maintaining, and supporting mainframe systems software in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of performance tuning, system optimization, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of database architecture, production support processes, and disaster recovery principles.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams while managing multiple priorities.
  • C2 clearance and successful completion of a credit/background screening are required.

Preferred Skills/Experience of the Systems Programmer III (Mainframe / DB2 for z/OS):
