Job Description

The Enterprise Data & AI Governance team is responsible for defining and implementing the Companys data and AI governance frameworks, including risk-based controls, intake, and oversight to enable responsible and compliant adoption of data and AI solutions. The Systems Manager for AI Governance will lead the Companys AI Governance Office, establishing and operationalizing a risk-based framework to enable the responsible, compliant, and scalable use of AI across the enterprise. This role directs the development and ongoing evolution of governance standards, policies, and lifecycle processes that govern AI systems from intake through deployment and ongoing monitoring.

Data governance practices are integrated as foundational enablers to ensure that data used in AI systems is appropriately governed, controlled, and aligned to enterprise standards. The role includes administration of the Data & AI Governance capital program (budget, procurement, scope, and reporting), oversight of governance-enabling tools that support AI inventory, traceability, and documentation (e.g., cataloging capabilities), and cultivation of partnerships across ETS, business units, and industry peers to advance enterprise AI initiatives.

This position does not provide employment pursuant to the terms of a STEM OPT Training Plan.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the Data and AI Governance team, providing vision, mentorship, and a culture of accountability to drive professional growth and creative contributions
  • Cultivate a high-performing team environment that fosters innovation while ensuring consistent adherence to governance practices
  • Direct the development and continuous evolution of enterprise Data and AI Governance frameworks, ensuring policies, standards, and playbooks are integrated, scalable, and risk-aligned
  • Lead and develop a team through coaching, performance management, and effective work assignment to drive aligned execution and business outcomes
  • Integrate data governance as a foundational enabler for AI, ensuring that data used in AI systems meets enterprise quality and compliance standards
  • Manage the end-to-end Data and AI Governance capital program, including budget, procurement, resource allocation, project forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Oversee governance-enabling tools and processes (e.g., data catalogs, AI inventory, traceability) to operationalize controls, ensure documentation, and support enforcement
  • Drive governance literacy across the enterprise, collaborating with business units and stakeholders to ensure responsible, compliant, and scalable adoption of data and AI solutions
  • Collaborate with privacy, legal, and compliance teams to design and manage enterprise-wide data sharing processes and AI risk assessment protocols
  • Support internal and external audits to ensure the governance program remains robust and compliant with evolving regulatory requirements


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree and a minimum of 6 years full-time relevant work experience or
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 8 years full- time relevant work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree in Information Systems, Business, Cybersecurity, or a related field and a minimum of 6 years full-time relevant work experience leading enterprise AI governance initiatives, including risk-based oversight, data governance integration, and cross-functional collaboration to support responsible and compliant AI adoption at scale
Relevant Work Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working with data or implementing technologies in the D&A space, required
  • Project management experience, required
  • Managerial, supervisory, and/or leadership experience, required
  • Work experience in governance, policy management, regulatory or security compliance, risk management, privacy, or related disciplines, required
  • Ability to present technical topics to non-technical audience and leadership, required
  • Experience authoring formal documentation, guidelines, policies, and procedures, required

Additional Physical Demands
  • The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
