DescriptionNorthrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a
Systems Engineering Section Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located onsite in
Oklahoma City, OK on Tinker AFB.
The selected candidate manages a section of Systems Engineers reporting to the Department Manager on a 20% allocation. Responsible for the direct supervision/management of the staff. Responsible for Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) Management, IFC Responsible Engineer (RE), Scrum Team Leads, and Interface Control Document (ICD) direction to subordinates utilizing management guidelines & general policies as well as maintaining their current technical statement of work for the remaining 80% of the work week.
Management responsibilities include: planning and program performance addressing cost, schedule, technical performance, and quality of a system/mission thread work packages, subsystems, or related group of work packages or across multiple interrelated programs with full responsibility for all aspects of technical performance on large system development-type contracts, large delivery orders or mid-size technical services-type contracts. The successful candidate will act as a Control Account Manager (CAM).
Essential Functions:- Attends weekly flow down meetings with the Department Manager.
- Supports staffing needs as assigned.
- Conducts goal planning, performance evaluations merit budgeting.
- Provides technical guidance related to process and training to staff.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9 years of systems, aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 7 years of systems, aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience.
- Recently demonstrated knowledge of Systems Engineering practices.
- Must possess an active DoW Top Secret clearance that is in scope or currently enrolled in continuous evaluation, with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (PAR) access as determined by business needs.
- Experience with IFC processes and milestones.
Preferred Qualifications:- Advanced STEM Degree
- 5 years experience with IFC development and management
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Release Train Engineer training and experience.
- Experience running Planning Interval (PI) milestones using SAFe methodologies.
- Previous Systems Engineering leadership experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of Earn Value Management System (EVMS).
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.
Primary Level Salary Range: $131,800.00 - $197,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
