Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks Systems Engineering Leader II at its facility located at 39 Salem Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensure work performed is in compliance with state, local and federal legal requirements and operates on the job with the highest ethics. Employ practices and develop processes to ensure cost effective engineering while providing consistent delivery and customer satisfaction. Serve as an expert in application engineering. Work effectively with Major Projects and Branch teams. Prioritize work and coordinate projects to ensure progress and timely completion of the engineering deliverables. Provide timeframe estimates to project management for job cost evaluation. Develop, implement, monitor, and communicate the systems engineering team processes, strategies and standards. Provide engineering cost estimates during project development phases. Seek out new and creative applications and operational techniques. Implement improvements in the processes, facilities, tools and equipment to improve quality, reliability, productivity, and to provide leading edge technology. Provide advanced technical support on application or implementation issues. Serve as the Regional expert in application engineering. Meet the specification and minimize the total cost of installation to ensure that the project cost comes below estimate. Utilize financial, contract management and other management reports to evaluate team success. Develop and maintain viable relationships with customers, consultants and architect engineers. Leverage these relationships as needed during project development and execution. Maintain high level of engineering standards. Ensure maximum reuse of proven designs and programs. Perform complex engineering and support network commissioning as required on assigned projects. Prepare and deliver clear performance expectations, performance reviews and development plans for direct reports. Work with Major Projects and Branch teams to ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables in order to maximize successful execution of projects. Adhere to safety standards and high degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety. Telecommuting: 2 days/week. Role supervises 13 direct reports. Travel Requirements: 10%

REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires a bachelor27s degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and Three (3) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Application Engineer, or related occupation in the Building Automation industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Accounting principles and cost management; (2) Designing complex building controls systems utilizing product selection and drafting tools; (3) Designing complex control sequence of operations, generate and validate controller software and supervisory network device databases; (4) Coordinating engineering deliverables with project teams and schedule available resources to accomplish assigned tasks on time and within budget; (5) Utilizing and updating engineering tracking tools to assist in communicating status on assigned tasks; and (6) Working with managers to ensure projects are on track with technical execution to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Alternatively, the employer will accept five (5) years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Application Engineer, or related occupation in the Building Automation industry. Additionally, the applicant must have employment experience with: (1) Accounting principles and cost management; (2) Designing complex building controls systems utilizing product selection and drafting tools; (3) Designing complex control sequence of operations, generate and validate controller software and supervisory network device databases; (4) Coordinating engineering deliverables with project teams and schedule available resources to accomplish assigned tasks on time and within budget; (5) Utilizing and updating engineering tracking tools to assist in communicating status on assigned tasks; and (6) Working with managers to ensure projects are on track with technical execution to ensure high customer satisfaction.

RATE OF PAY: $177,466.00 - $177,466.00 per year
