Full Job Description
The Fleet Ballistic Missile Systems Integration Team is growing and currently seeking a Systems Engineering Field Tech Support Sr. to join their Team at the Bangor Naval Submarine Base, WA. The Lockheed Martin FBM System Integration Team integrates, sustains, and upgrades the U.S. Navy Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBMs), primarily the Trident II D5LE, ensuring peak readiness, performance, and longevity through advanced digital tools, rigorous testing, and lifecycle support, functioning as a critical partner in strategic deterrence by maintaining complex hardware, software, and support systems for decades. The position will provide on-site engineering and technical support to the deployed squadron and assigned submarines. The selected individual will be responsible for the following: Acquire and maintain a level of knowledge to support operation and maintenance of all required SP27 Missile Subsystem Surface Support Equipment, tactical/Active Inert Missile (AIM) missiles, and a basic knowledge of the Strategic Weapons System, to include Fire Control, Launcher and Missile Support Systems. Support is provided to Navy personnel in the servicing, maintenance, repair, SPALT installation and checkout of the SWS. Provide technical support in the diagnosis and resolution of Fleet technical problems including the review of Fleet Documentation Change Requests (FDCR), Trouble and Failure Reports (TFR) and TFRCARs (Corrective Action Reports) to ensure technical accuracy. Perform authorized on-site maintenance and emergency repairs utilizing SSP approved Unique Repair Procedures (URP) onboard SSBNs, repairs on the Missile Subsystem-missile body and missile support equipment as required. Conduct inspection, evaluation, and maintenance onboard SSBNs to include all SP27 Missile Subsystem Support Equipment, including missile repair tools required for at-sea missile repairs. Evaluate design changes, specification and drawing releases as appropriate. Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems related to FBM/SWS Weapon Systems programs. Coordinate with SSP and associate contractors on documentation changes to provide clear, concise, and technically accurate direction for the FBM Weapons System. Basic Qualifications - Familiarity with Mechanical Support Equipment installation and removal - Familiarity with Systems level testing - Interim Secret Clearance prior to start - Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.; US Citizenship required - Ability to climb up and down ladders and be able to gain access into limited spaces to perform work. Desired Skills - Mechanical skills - Electronic background - Equipment testing experience - USN-SSBN (Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear) or SWS (Strategic Weapon System) experience - Presentation computer skills - Light travel (Few weeks per year) may be required. - Active DoD Clearance Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $81500.00 - $151300.00 The salary range for this position is as listed on the requisition. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics. - For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
