As a Performance Analyst for THAAD Interceptor, you will directly help establish the technical solution for one of our country's most vital and complex missile systems. THAAD provides mobile and deployable ground-based missile defense as part of the Missile Defense System.

You will work closely with a team of top technical talent from across the program to provide the best, integrated solution that meets overall performance, cost, and schedule needs.

In this role you will:

- Utilize models and simulations to predict performance, conduct trade studies, and allocate requirements across the THAAD technical domains to optimize system design

- Develop models and simulations to accurately predict the behavior of the THAAD Interceptor system, addressing the Interceptor, environments, and threat systems.

- Create performance predictions for THAAD development activities such as flight tests, and validate results using post-flight data

- Integrate lower level (e.g. subsystem) models and results into the system model to create a comprehensive perspective of system performance

- Guide hardware subsystem development by analyzing subsystem contributions to system performance, updating and creating models, and allocating requirements

- Brief management and customers on predicted performance resulting from hardware and software design changes

- Use your excellent communication skills to work across the Lockheed Martin organization and customer/user community to ensure consensus and understanding of system performance and trades

- Support operational analysis and ongoing production

Basic Qualifications

- Experience developing software models of physical systems or other simulations to perform analysis functions, including:
a.) System trade studies
b.) Requirements decomposition and allocation
c.) System design
d.) Performance predictions

- Programming experience using C, C++, Matlab, Fortran, or similar technologies

- Experience using software version control tools such as gitlab

- Experience working within space, aircraft, or missile systems performing design, simulation, and/or test

- Active or Current Secret clearance, thus US Citizenship required

Desired skills

- Bachelor or Master degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field

- Experience using Unix or Linux environment for technical computing

- Demonstrated behaviors of a systems thinker with the ability to select and apply appropriate systems thinking skills to solve problems and implement constructive change

- Strong team collaboration, communication, and presentation skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong social skills, and ability to build consensus among peers while building solid relationships with team members

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $89,300 - $157,550. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.

Premium Pay Statement
