Job DescriptionDescription SAIC is seeking a
Process Systems Engineer to join our team of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. The ideal candidate will drive optimization, continuous improvement, and systems-level thinking across our enterprise programs. Unlike traditional IT infrastructure roles, this position focuses on engineering lifecycle management, business process re-engineering, and stakeholder requirement translation.
This position requires technical engineering experience, with a demonstrated understanding and application of systems engineering and configuration management principles and processes, mission planning/scheduling along with experience in systems engineering and sustainment of existing baselines. The position requires an understanding of data normalization and standardization, data integrity, and data and workflow identification and analysis. The successful candidate will be effective at face-to-face interaction with customers and other contractors to respond to requests for information, support technical meetings, technical interchanges and enterprise working groups.
Additionally, the candidate will provide the following modification and sustaining engineering design and analysis services in order to modify and sustain the fielding AOC WS baselines:
- Review, analyze and recommend solutions with regard to Government requirements and design documentation.
- Review, analyze and provide oversight of the Government plans, procedures and execution, provide Systems Engineering services to manage the Governments Product Lifecycle Management Tool (PLMT) or any other Government approved lifecycle tools used during the design, integration and testing of the AOC.
- Ensure that all tools used in designing, developing, integrating or testing baseline releases are integrated with the Government PLMT and other Government approved tools.
- Leverage Lean/Six Sigma principles and systems-thinking methodologies to bridge business operations and technical capabilities.
- Must be able to work independently and represent the program and SAIC at meetings and working groups with government and associate contractors.
- The candidate must be able to effectively interface with software developers and have a good understanding of how to communicate systems engineering requirements to software development teams.
Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors in Engineering and 3-5 years or more experience; Masters Engineering 1-3 years or more experience.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Strong understanding of Systems Engineering Lifecycles and structured process improvement frameworks (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate complex, multi-tiered technical environments from a process optimization lens.
- Proven track record facilitating stakeholder consensus across disparate functional areas and leadership tiers.
- Exceptional elicitation, active listening, and technical writing skills.
- Hands-on experience developing SOPs, process playbooks, and functional training documentation.
- Strong presentation and instructional design capabilities with technical and non-technical audiences.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
