Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

SUMMARY

Works as part of a development team to define, design, and provide Engineering support for fixed site IT systems. Will collaborate with other USMC projects across the client's portfolio and with external stakeholders. Prepares status reports and presentations on architecture, design, and task performance to clients. May provide daily supervision and direction to support staff.

REPSONSIBILITIES:
  • Systems Engineering support for USMC IT infrastructure including networks, servers, laptops, software, containers, and virtualized systems.
  • Deep understanding of USMC systems engineering methods and approval processes
  • Networking (including architectures, topologies, ports/protocols, virtual networks)
  • Systems Administration for Operating Systems including Windows and Linux
  • Virtualized infrastructures (e.g. VMWare, HyperV)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative field such as engineering or mathematics (e.g. Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accredited program (see www.abet.org).; Technology degrees do not qualify as Engineering or Physical Science Degrees.

EXPERIENCE
  • Five (5) - Seven (7) years of professional experience in research, design, and development of computer and network software, architecture, or specialized utility programs which may include database development & maintenance within an application area. Must have experience applying programming concepts in a professional setting and notable experience with applying modern software development methodologies (e.g. agile, DEVOPS/DEVSECOPS) in a professional setting.
  • Three (3) years of technical experience in architecture & support of C5ISR or information management systems.
  • Systems engineering experience within DOD programs, ideally USMC programs to include requirements management and specification development.

CLEARANCE
  • Current Secret

SKILLS
  • Proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing large-scale IT systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IAAS) platforms, with a preference for experience in government secure hosted environments.
  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and sprint cycles, including using tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana.
  • Understanding of testing, quality assurance, and system integration strategies within a systems engineering context.
  • Knowledge of server and network management and configuration.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders, translating complex requirements and feedback into actionable tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn new technologies and software quickly.
  • Strong understanding of USMC Configuration Management best practices.

LOCATION
  • The work location is Quantico, VA with 0-10% travel expected. It is a hybrid position with some remote work depending on project schedule and classification.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • IT certifications like AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), or PMP are a plus.
  • Linux dev and/or integration experience
  • Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) experience
  • Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience are a plus.
  • CMPro experience and/or familiarity.
  • Hands-on experience with the USMC SETR process, and experience managing SETR events.
