We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join the Technology team in West Hartford, CT supporting NBC and Telemundo Connecticut. As a Systems Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for implementing and supporting technology and users within our mission critical, media production and enterprise IT environment. Job Responsibilities: • Gather requirements, plan, and implement technical and workflow solutions for News, Production, and Creative Services partners. • Administration of media production applications, systems and infrastructure, ensuring reliability of technology and operations. • Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes. • Provide technical support, incident response, and customer communication. • Ensure compliance with NBCUniversal cyber security policies and standards. • All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Basic Qualifications • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience. • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, radio, television & film, related fields or equivalent experience. Desired Qualifications: • Support of mid- to major market news or live event production operations & 24x7 mission critical technology facilities. • Expertise in planning, implementation and support of media technology including SDI and NDI video infrastructures, contribution & distribution encoding, live production systems, news gathering tools, NRCS, NLE, media asset management, and transmission systems. • Expertise in core IT fundamentals including administration of physical / virtualized / cloud compute & storage, networking, domain & identity management. • History of successfully leading complex projects resulting in satisfied stakeholders. • Proficient with IT routers, switches, firewalls, and port management applications • Proficient in A/V file transcoding, data archiving processes and video compression technologies & standards • Hands-on experience with support of non-linear edit systems such as the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite • Demonstrated knowledge of media over managed IP networks and protocols. • Knowledge and experience with hardware virtualization • Knowledge of media workflow tools and production systems such as Vantage, Dalet, Ross Overdrive or similar • Knowledge of distribution systems • Knowledge of newsgathering and communications systems • Strong ability to read and generate system documentation (Visio, ACAD) • Positive work ethic, ability to work well in groups to execute projects on time and on budget while meeting customer expectations • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse audiences across different departments, ranging from non-technical clients to technical professionals and operations staff • Must be able to process large amounts of information, analyze this information and make sound decisions, sometimes under intense deadline pressure • Knowledge of standard engineering processes such as change control and agile development concepts. • Must be keen to learn and develop new skills • Ability to work on own initiative • Excellent organization, collaboration, and communication skills • Knowledge and experience with setup, testing and documentation of proof-of-concept systems • Must possess strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks Eligibility Requirements • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through www.nbcunicareers.com to be considered • Must be willing to work on-site in West Hartford, CT • Must be able to and willing to work any shift, 24/7, • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, and on weekends with short notice • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States. • Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program • Must be 18 years or older • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds • Must have a valid driver's license • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
