In this role, you'll contribute to secure software engineering, DevSecOps, and systems integration across DoD environments, working alongside engineers and operators to deliver resilient, forward-leaning solutions in support of national defense.
About the role: PMAT is seeking a Systems Engineer - Level III to support the engineering and integration of mission-critical software capabilities across containerized, virtual-machine, cloud-based, and PaaS environments. In this role, you'll work across complex DoD environments and multiple security domains, supporting secure software delivery, DevSecOps pipelines, systems interoperability, and capabilities designed to operate in challenging DDIL, afloat, and ashore environments.
Responsibilities:
- Support full-lifecycle software development across containerized, virtual-machine, and cloud-based architectures.
- Support software engineering and delivery across Unclassified, Secret, and Top Secret security domains.
- Configure and integrate automated security testing tools within CI/CD pipelines, including SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanning.
- Support DevSecOps pipelines and associated security quality gates within highly regulated DoD environments.
- Engineer, integrate, and troubleshoot interoperable software systems supporting critical defense platforms.
- Support software capabilities operating within DDIL, afloat, and ashore PaaS environments.
- Support interoperability across Navy ACS, USMC CHE, and architectures designed for Five Eyes (FVEY) partner interoperability.
- Work within Agile software development environments to support the delivery and integration of mission capabilities.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of demonstrated full-lifecycle software development experience for containerized, virtual-machine, and cloud-based architectures across multiple security domains (Unclassified, Secret, Top Secret) using Agile methodologies.
- Minimum 4 years of demonstrated DevSecOps experience configuring automated security testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, and container scanners) as CI/CD quality gates within highly regulated, Government-mandated pipelines such as Overmatch Software Armory (OSA) or equivalent DoD enterprise DevSecOps environments.
- Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience engineering, integrating, and troubleshooting interoperable software systems within critical defense platforms in Denied, Disrupted, Intermittent, and Limited-bandwidth (DDIL), afloat, and ashore PaaS environments, including but not limited to Navy ACS, USMC CHE, and architectures designed for Five Eyes (FVEY) partner interoperability.
Education and Certification Requirements:
- Bachelors degree, STEM or related field; experience in lieu of degree
Citizenship and Clearance requirements:
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Active Top Secret clearance w/ SCI eligibility required
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance preferred
Location/Address:
- Within laboratories and vessels, including Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs).
Work Environment: PMAT offices as needed. In some cases, work in a government facility may be required. Travel may be required for customer engagement, team coordination, and potentially for business development.
