The Work
As the Lead Systems Engineer, you will:
• Provide technical direction and tasking to a team of multi-disciplinary engineers
• Interface with program and customer representatives on scope, schedule and funding
• Ensure technical integrity of delivered product and ensure alignment to department roadmap and vision
• Be responsible for technical, cost and schedule performance of an effort
• Lead systems-engineer activities for simulation and training subsystems across the full product lifecycle.
• Translate customer requirements into technical solutions, decompose software requirements and interfaces, and verify requirements.
• Apply Model-Based Engineering (MBE) to solve complex problems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define software and hardware requirements and resolve product defects.

This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Who You Are
You are an experienced Systems-Engineer with a proven track record on defense-industry projects. You are skilled at developing high-level and low-level requirements and maintaining traceability to mission objectives. You are proficient in defining software interfaces. You have excellent verbal and written communication; able to present technical information to senior internal and external stakeholders. You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and capable of delivering innovative technical solutions. You are an effective team player who can also manage tasks independently and build strong customer relationships.

Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent).
• Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
• Experience with requirements analysis and decomposition.
• Demonstrated project leadership skills, formal or informal
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security clearance at the Secret level - U.S. Citizenship required.

Desired skills
• Expertise in system design, requirements definition, and documentation standards
• Experience with system verification and test documentation
• Familiarity using Agile Management Suite and Agile Business Rhythm
• Experience in developing team members through knowledge continuity and mentoring
Experience with combat system architecture and design
• Experience with programming languages such as C++, Java and Python

Ability to work remotely

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedule Information

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

National Pay Statement

The base range for this position in New Jersey is $110,500 - $208,344.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. The wage range and benefits summary is a general guideline and is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement when extending an offer.
