The Opportunity:

Apply interdisciplinary engineering skills to support technical planning, systems integration, verification and validation, and risk analyses for complex Department of Defense systems. As a Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Perform technical planning, systems integration, and verification and validation activities for complex solutions or products

  • Conduct cost, risk, and supportability/effectiveness analyses across all levels of the total system product lifecycle

  • Support the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutions

  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to translate customer requirements into technical specifications

  • Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams and government stakeholders

  • Contribute to system architecture development and technical documentation

Responsibilities:

  • Apply systems engineering principles across concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal phases

  • Perform requirements allocation and interface definition studies to support system design decisions

  • Support the development of technical baselines and system architecture documentation

  • Conduct trade studies and technical analyses to evaluate alternative design approaches

  • Work independently with limited supervision while coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals

  • May manage projects or processes within assigned areas of responsibility

  • Influence others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures

  • Support integration and test events including development, operational, and acceptance testing

  • Develop technical documentation including system specifications, interface control documents, and engineering artifacts

  • Apply engineering domain knowledge which may include hardware, communications, cyber, electrical, or other specialized engineering disciplines

  • Interface with customers, suppliers, and other technical and support personnel

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active Secret security clearance (required)

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline

  • 7+ years of professional experience in systems engineering

  • Demonstrated experience with systems integration, verification and validation, and technical planning

  • Experience with requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and interface management

  • Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and methodologies

  • Experience performing trade studies and technical assessments

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to resolve difficult and sometimes complex technical problems

  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision

  • Experience coaching and reviewing the work of junior engineering staff

Desired:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Experience with C5ISR, SIGINT, EW, or intelligence systems architecture

  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and tools such as Cameo or MagicDraw

  • Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products and development

  • Understanding of MOSA, SOSA, and CMOSS open architecture standards

  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Cameo Requirements

  • Knowledge of systems engineering standards such as IEEE 15288 or EIA 632

  • Experience with test planning, execution, and technical evaluations

  • Familiarity with Agile systems engineering and iterative development approaches

  • Previous experience supporting government program offices

  • Experience with hardware/software interface design and documentation

  • Understanding of digital engineering and digital thread concepts
