Full Job Description
Torch is seeking a high-performing Systems Engineer to join a team leading the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA's) digital transformation initiative to deliver capabilities for the Missile Defense System at the speed and scale necessary to support our National Defense Strategy. As a member of the transformation team, you will drive the modernization of Systems Engineering processes, tools, and products across the Agency, with a focus on developing and advancing the MDA Enterprise Government Reference Architecture (GRA). The mission includes replacing outdated, document-heavy workflows with a dynamic digital engineering ecosystem with automated, traceable, and dynamic digital solutions to promote real-time collaboration, automated documentation, and enhanced agility across the Agency. As a Systems Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to: • Conduct or contribute to engineering analyses and trade studies and provide recommendations supported by results and engineering experience. • Develop systems engineering modernization strategies and implementation plans. • Participate in technical interchange meetings with stakeholders and provide technical reviews of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) data. • Foster real-time, multi-user collaboration across engineering teams and stakeholders. • Analyze Department of War (DoW) and MDA strategies, plans, policies, and processes and collaborate with senior leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure alignment. • Promote efficiency, agility, and traceability in fast-paced engineering environments. • Participate in the preparation and presentation of briefings to senior leaders. • Collaborate with diverse groups and joint initiatives and work in highly adaptive environments. Required Qualifications: • U.S. Citizenship • Bachelor's Degree in STEM field • 2+ years applicable, progressively complex, Systems Engineering experience • Active DoW security clearance at the SECRET or higher level • Clear grasp of systems thinking, but capable of performing detailed analysis • Proven experience in establishing, mentoring, and driving Systems Engineering best practices across organizations • Transformation minded and growth oriented • Work well in a team culture which prioritizes collaboration, mutual respect, and mission success, but also able to self-start and work independently. • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including executive-level communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to senior leadership Preferred Qualifications: • Background in missile defense, preferably with the Missile Defense System or other large scale DoW Systems-of-Systems (SoS) • A degree in Systems Engineering from an accredited university • Mastery of digital engineering transformation tools, methodologies, and implementation strategies • Formal training and/or experience in Systems Engineering standards and practices such as the INCOSE Systems Engineering Handbook, the Systems Engineering Body of Knowledge, and ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 • Comprehensive mastery of requirements engineering, traceability frameworks, and full system life cycle engineering methodologies Schedule: M-F; 8-5 Work Location: Onsite, Huntsville Alabama OR Colorado Springs, CO Travel: Yes, 0-10% Relocation Assistance Available: No Position Contingent Upon Award of Contract: No Salary Range - Colorado: $100,000-$114,000 The salary range information is a general guideline only.
