Summary:As part of the Systems Engineering group, the Systems Engineer II will play a key role in supporting the BD portfolio of products that involve electromechanical hemodynamic monitoring equipment. This position involves applying system design and integration expertise to bridge functional areas such as Software, Mechanical and Electrical engineering. The engineer will play a critical role in ensuring that complex, multi-disciplinary system functions cohesively and meets the intended design requirements.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties- Systems engineer activities, including functional characterization and verification and validation of system level requirements.
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineers (i.e Mechanical, Software, Electrical) to support verification of the integration of various subsystems
- Contribute to risk analysis documentation and activities.
- Apply scientific and statistical methods to resolve problems, develop tests and test methods and analyze test results.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering (e.g., Bioengineering. Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering).
- Minimum 2 years of experience in systems engineering, product development, or product design.
- Experience in developing and performing system-level characterization and integration
- Experience in developing test cases and writing technical protocols and reports.
- Basic knowledge of statistical tools and techniques
Preferred Qualifications- Background in product development for electromechanical instrumentation or diagnostic devices.
- History working in the medical device industry and familiarity with industry standards and regulations (i.e IEC, ISO)
- Experience working on real-time embedded systems.
- Experience or familiarity with test automation.
- Familiarity with requirement management tools. (i.e Polarion, RV&S)
- Comfortable in a dynamic working environment.
- Experience writing scripts using Python or MATLAB.
