This individual will serve as a technical contributor responsible for systems-level architecture, integration, and requirements management across unmanned systems and related subsystems operating in challenging and complex operational environments. The role involves close collaboration with scientists, engineers, test personnel, and government stakeholders to ensure systems meet performance, interoperability, and mission requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle, including requirements development, functional analysis, architecture design, integration, verification, and validation for C-UxS platforms and subsystems.

  • Translate operational requirements into technical specifications, ensuring traceability from requirements through design, test, and delivery.
  • Conduct trade studies and technical risk assessments to inform design decisions related to survivability, autonomy, resilience, and performance in contested/denied environments.
  • Support integration of subsystems (e.g., sensors, communications, autonomy software, C2 systems) into unified unmanned system platforms.
  • Collaborate with test engineering staff to develop test strategies, review test plans/procedures, and assess results against system requirements.
  • Design, develop, and implement comprehensive system architectures and solutions.
  • Oversee system integration, including hardware, software, networking, and data requirements.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation, including system designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Conduct testing and validation to ensure system functionality, security, and performance.
  • Stay current on advancements in technology and recommend updates to systems or processes as needed.
  • Support system upgrades, patches, and deployments to ensure minimal disruptions.
  • Analyze and mitigate potential risks related to system performance, security, and stability.
  • Assist in defining and implementing policies, standards, and best practices for system engineering.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7 years of experience in systems engineering, IT infrastructure, or related areas
  • Broad systems engineering experience across the full SE lifecycle (requirements, architecture, design, integration, V&V, transition) for DoD acquisition programs.
  • Familiarity with C-UxS or layered sensor/defeat systems, MBSE tools, and ICD/interface requirements development
  • Experience reviewing ECPs and performing system trade studies;
  • Strong knowledge of system design, implementation, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with virtualization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and containerization technologies.
  • Proficiency in system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices for securing systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical communication skills.
  • Active Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance
