Job Description

As System Engineer II, you will be working on the team developing control laws for eVTOL vehicles or other challenging AAM programs. The responsibilities of the position are:
  • Working with customers to develop Control Law functional and performance requirements
  • Performing simulation, modeling and analysis required to design, specify and implement flight controls laws solution to meet requirements
  • Troubleshooting Control Law performance issues and propose modifications as needed
  • Performing integration and testing activities on off/on target test platforms and air vehicle to validate and demonstrate compliance of control law to requirements
  • Participate in system engineering activities to demonstrate compliance to certification objectives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop system level requirements, as well as SW based implementation, integration and verification activities.
  • Functional integration and troubleshooting on system bench
  • Analysis of flight test data and comparison with expectations from linear/nonlinear analysis models
  • Participating in customer interactions are expected and occasional travel to support requirements development and on-site testing may be needed.


Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in flight control law development with a focus on Modern Control, e.g. robustness analysis, dynamic inversion, estimation.

WE VALUE
  • Master of Science degree in Aerospace, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on Modern Control, e.g. robustness analysis, dynamic inversion, estimation.
  • Understanding of flight dynamics, especially for multi-rotor/eVTOL aircraft
  • Understanding of Classical Control Theory
  • Understanding of different optimization techniques
  • Experience with requirements development and technical writing
  • Expertise with design tools for the field (Matlab, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with performing Simulation and Analysis
  • Experience with industry standards and regulations (ARP4754, DO-178, etc.)
