Systems Engineer (Hubspot), Digital Operations

Job Disclosures:

Location: On-site (Santa Fe, NM) or Remote, providing the candidate resides in one of the following markets: Santa Fe, NM; Denver, CO; Las Vegas, NV; Houston, TX; Dallas, TX.

Compensation: The base annual salary for this position starts at $91,381. Compensation may vary based on location and experience.

Job Summary:

The Systems Engineer (Hubspot), Digital Operations, collaborates with development and operations teams to design and implement the scalable systems architectures that support Meow Wolf's day-to-day. This role requires a strong technical background in scripting, API integrations, and troubleshooting to streamline internal workflows and improve data accessibility. They manage the full systems development lifecycle, from building custom tool functionality and user interfaces to maintaining security standards and documentation. This position is for a proactive engineer who excels at translating operational needs into reliable technical solutions and ensures the long-term health of our corporate ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with development and operational teams to design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure systems architectures for the digital products that support the day-to-day of Meow Wolf teams.
  • Be familiar with the entire systems development lifecycle.
  • Design and develop user-friendly interfaces and integrations within core business platforms to streamline workflows and improve data accessibility.
  • Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Javascript, Typescript) to create custom tool functionality.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation.
  • Train and support our teams with the usage and improvements of these applications.
  • Manage and coordinate bug fixes for any issues that arise.
  • Develop and record all security measures and standards for system software, and maintain confidentiality about sensitive information
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing timely updates on system status, incidents, and planned maintenance activities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in configured systems, Meow Wolf's systems stack, and automation.


Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years experience in designing and implementing scalable, reliable, and secure systems architectures for digital products, including hands-on experience with administering an enterprise HubSpot environment (e.g., custom objects, automations, datasets, reporting, and platform configuration).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Javascript, Python, CSS) to optimize and automate system processes.
  • 3+ years experience in building and maintaining integrations and automations utilizing APIs.
  • Ability to develop and maintain clear and comprehensive system documentation, including naming conventions, property definitions, and maintenance logs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to train users and support adoption of system best practices.
  • Knowledge of system security best practices and ability to implement security measures.
  • Skilled at managing your time and staying organized using work management tools (e.g., Asana) to plan, prioritize, and track tasks and projects.

Work is typically performed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting that requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while responding to operational needs.

Physical Demands:

This position requires prolonged periods of sitting and frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and standard office equipment. The role involves repetitive hand and wrist movements associated with system monitoring, configuration, and documentation. Occasional standing, walking between work areas, or light lifting of equipment or materials (typically up to 10 pounds) may be required. Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position averaging 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm MT or 10am to 6pm MST - occasionally requiring flexibility to work during evenings or weekends based on business needs, as well as travel to off-site locations depending on the role and need.
