Systems Engineer (Expert-Level)Mission Intelligence Group is seeking an experienced
Systems Engineer (Expert-Level) to support critical GEOINT missions across the National System of Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and partner Federal agencies. This role offers the opportunity to lead complex systems engineering efforts, influence enterprise-level technical decisions, and help deliver innovative, reliable capabilities that ensure timely and accurate geospatial intelligence for mission partners.
Your RoleAs an
Expert-Level Systems Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across all phases of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements engineering, solutions development, systems integration, test and evaluation, and performance analysis. You will work closely with Government stakeholders to translate mission needs into technical solutions, guide enterprise architecture decisions, and oversee engineering activities spanning multiple organizations and major acquisition programs.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support systems engineering activities across the NSG, ASG, and Federal agency environments.
- Assist Government stakeholders in requirements engineering, solutions engineering, integration, testing, reliability, resiliency, and maintainability efforts.
- Analyze and trace user requirements, system architectures, workflows, and operational processes.
- Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflow efficiencies, and scheduling limitations.
- Advise Government leadership on solution designs, emerging technologies, and engineering best practices.
- Translate mission and customer needs into actionable system and capability requirements.
- Support requirements allocation across system architectures and executing programs.
- Assist with systems integration and enterprise interoperability initiatives.
- Lead or support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), Trade Studies, and Engineering Assessments.
- Provide expertise in strategic technical planning, project management, risk management, performance engineering, and interface design.
- Support the integration of multiple Major Systems Acquisitions across organizational and agency boundaries.
- Oversee and coordinate the work of Senior-, Mid-, and Junior-level Systems Engineers.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific discipline, including:
- Engineering
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Operations Research
- Engineering Management
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Management Information Systems
- Other related STEM fields
- Equivalent experience may be substituted:
- 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or
- 2 additional years of relevant experience with a non-STEM degree
- 18+ years of experience in government or industry supporting one or more of the following:
- DoD/IC Acquisition Process
- Requirements Process
- PPBES Process
- Systems engineering of large, complex System-of-Systems environments
- Service-Oriented Architectures operating in cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures
- Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and methodologies.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.
- Experience supporting NGA and/or NSG/ASG programs and projects.
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD) programs and projects.
- Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI eligibility and successfully complete a polygraph.
Desired Qualifications- Master's degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
- Working knowledge of:
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
- MBSE processes, tools, and languages
- Professional certifications such as:
- Software Development Framework certification
- INCOSE Expert Systems Engineering Professional (ESEP) certification
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Membership or leadership participation in professional organizations, including:
- ACSM
- ASCE
- ASPRS
- OGC
- SAREM
- USGIF
- Extensive experience in the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) domain.
- Experience designing and engineering solutions utilizing:
- Cloud-based technologies
- Structured and unstructured Big Data environments
- Automation technologies
- Augmentation technologies
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Photogrammetry
- Remote sensing
- Image science
- Information sciences
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- Geomatics
- Related geospatial disciplines
