Full Job Description
Sr. Systems Engineer resource to support a contract for personnel and readiness employing significant and complex military or defense-related systems that are developed, managed, and/or utilized by the United States Department of Defense (DoD). These systems may be large-scale projects involving advanced technologies and substantial investments. They can include various components such as national security systems, communication systems, surveillance systems, or other capabilities aimed at enhancing national security and military readiness and effectiveness. Location details: This role is anticipated to be fully remote but may require travel. The exact location and on-site requirements will be confirmed at a later time. • Provide Hardware/Software (HW/SW) Gap Analysis • Identify how Design Assurance (DA) levels are allocated to software and hardware (based on the system architecture) in order to achieve system DA objectives • Identify which software functions require DO-278A Assurance Level 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 and which hardware functions require DO-254 DA Level A, B, C, D, or E • Identify what evidence exists to meet the objectives of the software/hardware DA levels identified • Map evidence that objectives have been achieved and identify additional work or documentation that is needed to demonstrate that identified allocations have been achieved (i.e., identify gaps) • Support Requirements Reviews, Development Reviews, and Verification Reviews • Provide development and management of program requirements, general engineering support, safety risk management support and hazard analyses, and technical analysis and support of system development and integration efforts • Participate in technical meetings and design reviews as required • Develop required enterprise architecture products • Provide safety risk management in support of the Safety Management System (SMS) activities • Assist in developing safety plans, hazard analyses, and reports according to the SMS guidance • Facilitate and participate in safety risk management panels and develop safety risk management documents (SRMD) and decision memos to support the AMS lifecycle milestones Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in related field and minimum of 10 years' experience in systems engineering (or - Ph.D and 3+ years of experience; Master's degree and 7+ years; or 15+ years of experience in lieu of degree) • Familiarity with configuration management, requirements analysis, development and management, and quality assurance • Strong technical writing experience • Experience improving quality, efficiency, and effectiveness by which client program information is shared and communicated • Ability to listen to clients' challenges and proactively help them solve problems and follow through on actions • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to support multiple activities and meet deadlines • FAA experience strongly desired We Take Care of Our Own (Benefits) We believe one of the major benefits of working at Evans is our award-winning culture of ongoing learning and professional growth, with a focus on collaboration, innovation, flexibility, and wellness. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,000 to $170,000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Evans's total compensation package for employees.
