Work Environment: Onsite / closed-area environment, Huntsville, AL
Travel: Up to 10%
The successful candidate will apply systems engineering principles throughout the product-development lifecycle, with an emphasis on requirements engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), architecture, interfaces, and system verification.
Responsibilities- Apply systems engineering processes and principles to the development of complex product solutions.
- Develop, analyze, manage, and verify system requirements.
- Utilize DOORS for requirements development and management.
- Develop and maintain system models using Cameo and MBSE methodologies.
- Support software development and verification of requirements.
- Develop systems engineering artifacts including specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), use cases, system architecture descriptions, trade studies, and related technical products.
- Support system architecture and interface-development activities.
- Participate in technical reviews, engineering discussions, and multidisciplinary team activities.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear technical work products and presentations.
- Collaborate with software, test, modeling and simulation, and other engineering disciplines.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with at least 2 years of related experience; Master's degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of related experience; or 6 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Solid understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.
- Experience applying systems engineering processes to the development of product solutions.
- Familiarity with DOORS, Cameo, and MBSE.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to think critically and capture complex technical concepts in work products, presentations, and technical discussions.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Ability to support an onsite, closed-area work environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Current active, in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance required to start.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with software development and verification of requirements.
- Experience supporting Missile Defense Agency or similar DoD programs.
- Battle Management and/or Fire Control experience.
- MBSE and/or INCOSE certifications.
- Experience developing systems engineering artifacts, including specifications, ICDs, use cases, system architecture descriptions, and trade studies.
