PeopleTec is currently seeking an M&S Engineer  to support our Huntsville, AL location.

 

PeopleTec is seeking a motivated individual who is interested in joining an award-winning company and working with cutting edge technologies to include hypersonics, flight testing, missile defense, and weapon systems.   The selected candidate will be a member of our dynamic Huntsville team and will work on projects involving mission and flight planning, flight test, and software product design, development, testing, and analysis.

Our team supports state-of-the-art projects, blending engineering skills and software design to perform research and analysis, modeling and simulation, flight testing, and launch support in a mission operations center.  Team members work with a wide-ranging group of customers to understand project requirements and develop innovative and creative solutions to address the nation’s most pressing challenges.  Our employee owners support our customers by:

  • Understanding and developing solutions to support emerging needs in a dynamic environment
  • Planning, implementing, testing, documenting, and maintaining solutions in support of flight testing
  • Conceiving, developing, and maintaining engineering algorithms to expand capabilities of models and simulations and support to flight testing
  • Supporting flight test analysis, planning, and execution

The successful candidate will be an adaptable, agile, experienced engineer who is a consummate team player capable of researching, analyzing, and engineering solutions to meet customer demand for flight testing tools and to support a fast-paced, cutting edge flight test program.  The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess effective communication skills, and have experience with flight test planning, test execution, and post test data analysis.

Qualifications

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in trajectory analysis and flight test modeling and simulation
  • Ability to perform modeling and simulation efforts that will support the analysis of trajectory feasibility for hypersonic platforms
  • Support operational and development testing in austere locations, performing duties in the planning and execution of weapon testing
  • Experience in the analysis and decomposition of customer requirements and the subsequent development of measurable tasks to be completed by the engineering and software teams
  • Ability to apply an interdisciplinary approach to ensure technical needs are translated into step-by-step processes to produce efficient and effective results
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem resolution skills in support of requirements analysis, program design and development, unit testing, verification, integration, and reporting
  • Familiar with high level programming languages such as C++, C#, and/or Python
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Project)
  • Familiarity with the development and integration of engineering tools into software
  • Sound oral communication and technical writing skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical approaches and findings to the team and the government customer
  • The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Travel: Up to 25%
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • An active DoD Secret clearance is required to perform this work. Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or scientific field of study from an accredited college or university and 5 - 8+ years of progressively complex experience in modeling and simulation, software, aerospace systems, and/or flight testing
  • A relevant master’s degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for two years of relevant work experience. 
  • A relevant PhD degree in engineering or science from an accredited college or university may be substituted for three years of relevant work experience.  

Desired Skills:

  • Performing on console operations in a flight test mission operations center

  • Familiarity with flight testing of emergent weapons systems

  • Experience with the verification and validation of modeling and simulation tools is preferred

  • Experience in analysis of trajectory feasibility based on aerospace data and mission parameters is desired

  • Experience in developmental test and/or operational test and evaluation for DoD programs is a plus
