OverviewSystems Engineer (E30-2026-25541)
Bowhead seeks a Systems Engineer, with System Safety experience, to join our team supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), their tenant organizations and customers. The Systems Engineer will support work directly with the client analyzing unique technical support assignments. The E30 Gun Weapon Systems contract supports engineering and integration of gun weapon systems.
Responsibilities
- Provide systems engineering and analysis support to multiple customers
- Collaborate on technical progress of system development
- Provide technical assessments, evaluations, and analysis on system problems
- Provide review and recommendations on system integration issues
- Conduct risk management and assessments
- Review requirements traceability and analysis
- Prepare system safety analyses
- Develop qualification test plans and reports
- Assist with qualification test planning and testing events
- Assist with program element certification activities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline
- Three (3) years specialized experience in the areas of Gun Weapon System concept definition, design, integration, and engineering
- Experience in system safety requirements for the qualification of weapon systems across military platforms and all branches of service.
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite – TEAMS, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this contract.
