Job Description
A Systems Engineer job is currently available with Belcan for in-office work in North Phoenix, AZ. We are seeking a Flight Management System (FMS) professional to join our exciting team with a focus on Avionics Systems and Defense Products. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits and paid overtime. To be considered for this role, you will need a Bachelor of Science degree in a related engineering field, and a minimum of 3 years of experience within FMS systems or software programs.
Job duties:
• Develop and validate hardware and software system functional and software requirements
• Support the design of hardware, software, and interface specifications
• Troubleshoot, develop, and test FMS components
• Operate system integration lab equipment to integrate and validate FMS applications
• Coordinate internally and externally to generate and execute project plans and reviews
• Support the development of engineering processes and policies
• Develop and execute test cases and procedures to verify the system under test
• Troubleshoot and manage issues, problem reports, and change requests in a timely manner
• Escalate issues that need additional engineering or business leadership assistance in a timely manner
• Candidates are expected to mentor younger engineers, help grow teams, recognize new business potential with customers and report status to technical leads and project managers
Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related engineering degree from an accredited institution
• 3+ years FMS development/integration experience - preferably with aerospace software/systems, datalink systems, or avionics systems
• Regulatory experience preferred: ARP-4754, DO-178B/C, Mil Standards
• Datalink experience is a plus
• Ability to deal with ambiguity, to be adaptable, to work across multi-discipline teams, and to drive results
• Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering an salary rate of $85,000 to $125,000 however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
