JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is seeking an experienced and dynamic Information Technology (IT) based Systems Engineer and Technical Assistant (SETA) to support a U.S. Government customer with mission-critical operations. The selected candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the customer, offering subject matter expertise in IT Service Management (ITSM), while delivering oversight on cost, schedule, performance, quality assurance, and risk management. The role may includes activities in requirements management, configuration management, technical assessment, and service readiness to ensure a cohesive and efficient approach to IT service delivery.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a balanced mix of strategic and technical skills, enabling them to provide actionable recommendations in alignment with the organization's objectives to optimize IT infrastructure and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will provide:

Advisory and Customer Engagement:
  • Serve as a liaison and advocate between the IT service delivery vendors, the U.S. Government customer, and our mission partners to ensure shared understanding of expectations, progress, and objectives.
  • Guide stakeholders in adopting standardized service delivery practices while facilitating a culture of continuous service improvement (CSI) across projects.
  • Act as a Technical Advisor, translating customer needs into service requirements and identifying potential capability gaps.
  • Provide thought leadership to shape and optimize service roadmaps, aligning projects with mission priorities.
  • Create concise, actionable, and practicable recommendations to support government decision-making.


Service Delivery Oversight and Quality Assurance:
  • Oversee IT service management cost, schedule, and performance aspects, ensuring projects align with mission needs and organizational objectives.
  • Manage change processes by preemptively identifying impacts to the operational baseline and conducting comprehensive assessments.
  • Proactively lead project engagements, ensuring technical solutions balance stakeholder needs, expected outcomes, and available resources.
  • Perform detailed trade studies, functional analyses, and timeline impact analyses to ensure optimal system performance that's scalable and cost-effective.
  • Propose and implement metrics for service delivery quality, providing measurable results for continuous improvement.


Systems Engineering Support:
  • Leverage expertise to ensure continuity across multiple IT service deliveries, with a particular focus on requirements management, configuration management, and readiness activities.
  • Assess service readiness and perform verification and validation (V&V) for new system capabilities or upgrades.
  • Develop technical analysis and tools to support system functionality and capacity planning.


Qualifications

  • TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience *16+ years of relevant and associated professional experience may be considered in lieu of degree 1
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must possess and maintain a Top Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance with Poly
  • PMP is a plus, but not required
  • ITIL certification is a plus, but not required
