Position Summary

Base-2 Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to support AI-focused cloud and platform engineering efforts. This role applies systems engineering expertise to requirements analysis, system design, technical planning, documentation, and integration of new capabilities into ongoing operations, with emphasis on cloud architecture, AI/ML systems, security, and data lifecycle management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Analyze system requirements and lead design and development activities.
  • Guide users in formulating requirements, advise on alternative approaches, and conduct feasibility studies.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develop technical documentation.
  • Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
  • Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
  • Interface with the Government regarding systems engineering technical considerations and associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
  • Maintain responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the systems engineering area of responsibility.
  • Communicate with program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Required Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.
  • Experience in systems engineering sufficient to meet one of the stated education/experience pathways.
  • Ability to analyze requirements, support system design, and develop technical documentation.
  • Ability to support system development, implementation planning, and systems integration and test planning.
  • Ability to interact with Government stakeholders and communicate with technical and senior leadership audiences.
  • Experience with cloud architecture, cloud engineering, or platform engineering, especially in AWS.
  • Experience with AI/ML system design and implementation.
  • High-level understanding of the AI lifecycle, including development, training, inference, and monitoring.
  • Experience with ML pipeline development, model deployment, and DevOps/MLOps.
  • Experience with system security and networking, particularly implementation of system security on classified systems.
  • Experience with data engineering and data lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with varied stakeholder groups and the ability to proactively engage them to understand requirements and inform system architecture decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Amazon SageMaker.
