MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

As a Systems Architect supporting CIS, you will lead the design, validation, and evolution of complex enterprise architectures that drive mission critical capabilities across multinetwork environments. You will streamline engineering to operations workflows, guide technology modernization, and shape the strategic integration of new infrastructure capabilities. Your work ensures that engineered solutions transition seamlessly into stable, secure, and high availability operational environments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Streamline engineering to operations transition workflows, identifying gaps and driving corrective improvements
  • Lead teams of engineers to design, develop, integrate, and enhance CIS infrastructure components, including systems and applications tailored to mission objectives
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses of alternatives, cost estimates, and research/development activities through collaborative technical exchanges with government, vendors, and industry partners
  • Support rigorous testing, validation, and evaluation of architecture and engineering designs to ensure resilience, performance, and readiness prior to deployment
  • Identify emerging and revolutionary technologies; develop implementation approaches and incorporate approved solutions as rapidly and effectively as possible
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise technology refresh strategy covering lifecycle planning, modernization, deployment, and ongoing sustainment of digital engineering technologies
  • Collaborate across engineering, cybersecurity, and operations teams to ensure architectural decisions aligned with enterprise standards, security requirements, and long-term roadmaps
  • Produce clear architectural documentation, design artifacts, engineering guidance, and transition plans to support implementation and operational acceptance


WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
  • CLEARANCE: Active TS/SCI clearance with a favorable Polygraph
  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field, or 14+ years of relevant systems engineering, architecture, or infrastructure experience in lieu of a degree
  • CERTIFICATION: Meet DoD 8140 Information Assurance Workforce certification requirements (e.g. Security+ CE)
  • Proven experience architecting, integrating, and validating enterprise scale systems and infrastructure services
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, test and evaluation practices, and lifecycle design considerations
  • Experience developing alternatives analyses, cost/schedule assessments, and modernization strategies
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and work across diverse technical and operational stakeholders
  • Strong documentation, communication, analytical, and cross team collaboration skills US citizenship required

The likely salary range for this position is $169,604 - $229,464. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
