Full Job Description
IERUS Technologies is seeking a Systems Administrator with strong networking experience to support and help maintain an enterprise environment operating under CMMC compliance requirements. This role blends traditional systems administration with hands-on networking responsibilities, supporting infrastructure that includes Cisco networking, Palo Alto security appliances, Microsoft 365 services, and enterprise IT management platforms.

The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of IT experience in the defense industry, including at least 3 years working directly with networking technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain the organization's CUI network and overall systems infrastructure in the interest of maintaining compliance with applicable federal regulations and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Configures, monitors, and troubleshoots Cisco switches, routers, and wireless equipment as part of day-to-day operations.
  • Administers Cisco ISE to manage network access, authentication, and policy enforcement.
  • Manages Palo Alto firewalls, including maintaining security rules, configuring VPNs, and monitoring for potential threats.
  • Supports Microsoft 365 services such as Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and identity management.
  • Manages Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other authentication systems.
  • Supports Atlassian tools like Jira and Confluence used for ticketing, documentation, and internal workflows.
  • Respond to urgent network or infrastructure incidents and support after-hours troubleshooting when required.
  • Manages and configures both Windows 11 and RHEL operating systems.
  • Monitors network performance and troubleshoots connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and VPN connection.
  • Assists with endpoint management, patching, and configuration compliance for both Windows and Linux systems.
  • Effectuates CMMC requirements, including documentation, implementation of security controls, and audit preparation.
  • Works closely with the team, other business operations members, and engineers to keep systems running securely and reliably.

Required Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of IT experience
  • Minimum of 3 years networking experience
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies (switching, routing, VLANs, ACLs, etc.)
  • Experience administering Palo Alto firewalls and security policies
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 environments
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Windows Server administration
  • Experience with network troubleshooting tools and monitoring platforms
  • Strong documentation skills and familiarity with IT change management processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues across systems and networks

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in CMMC, NIST 800-171, or similar environments
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE for network authentication and access control
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certifications
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
