Full Job Description
The Opportunity

This position is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of enterprise server infrastructure, operating systems, virtualization platforms, cloud services, identity and access management, storage, backup and recovery systems, and related technologies. The Systems Administrator will provide hands-on support for Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365 and Azure, VMware or Hyper-V, enterprise storage, monitoring, backup and recovery, and security technologies. Key responsibilities include system patching and upgrades, configuration management, vulnerability remediation, performance monitoring and optimization, troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate infrastructure documentation.

In addition, the candidate will possess strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with demonstrated experience supporting secure, reliable, and highly available enterprise environments. This role will collaborate closely with Network, Cybersecurity, Application, Service Desk, and other IT teams to resolve complex technical issues, implement infrastructure enhancements, improve system reliability and performance, and ensure systems are maintained in accordance with organizational security standards, operational requirements, and industry best practices.

This position is 100% on-site.

The Systems Administrator responsibilities will include
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows servers and applications
  • Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
  • Support Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD and hybrid identity environments
  • Administer virtualization environments such as VMware vSphere/ESXi
  • Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and related services, depending on organizational responsibilities
  • Work with cybersecurity teams to remediate identified vulnerabilities and security risks
  • Manage enterprise backup and recovery systems
  • Monitor servers and infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, VMware monitoring tools, or similar platforms
  • Manage enterprise file servers, shares, and permissions

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in systems administration or a related IT infrastructure role
  • Experience supporting production environments, business-critical applications, and enterprise infrastructure
  • Strong experience administering Windows Server, including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure, including Entra ID, user administration, identity management, and access controls
  • Experience managing virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Experience with server hardware, storage, SAN/NAS, and enterprise backup technologies
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls
  • Experience with system monitoring and management platforms such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or similar tools
  • Experience performing OS patching, firmware upgrades, vulnerability remediation, configuration management, and system hardening
  • Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability concepts
  • Experience with endpoint/server security, antivirus/EDR, certificate management, and security best practices
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
  • Strong documentation skills, including maintaining system configurations, procedures, diagrams, and operational documentation
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with network, security, application, and support teams
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
