ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a motivated and driven Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for but not limited to:
- Responsible for installing and maintaining development systems, comprised of Linux, UNIX, and Windows operating systems, in accordance with established policies, procedures and service level agreements in support of DISA STIG baseline requirements.
- Provides operational support for mission critical systems to include servers, databases, virtual servers, and applications.
- Interacts with Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to restore service and/or identify and correct system problems using the development system.
- Performs system back-ups, restores systems from back-ups, and performs monthly patch testing prior to operational release.
- Generate or maintain moderately complex scripts using Shell and/or PERL tools.
- Monitors server and system activity using monitoring tools.
- Executes procedures in a sequential order to maintain development operations
- Interacts with system administrators daily, assisting operations with writing service tickets and briefing materials.
Qualifications
Required:
- An active/current TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Bachelors degree and eight (8) years relevant professional experience; or Masters degree and six (6) years of relevant experience; or PhD and three (3) years of experience. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy management.
- Experience with desktop deployment tools using Windows Deployment Services (WDS)/Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT).
- Experience using security tools such as Nessus/ACAS, STIGs, McAfee, HP WebInspect, Solarwinds Event Manager, and Solarwinds patching tool.
- Experience in Windows Server 2016, Windows SQL 2016, RedHat Servers, VMware ESXi, Solarwinds Orion, and SPLUNK.
- DoD 8570 IAT or IAM Level 2 compliant professional certification current in CompTIA Security+ CE certification.
Desired:
- Knowledge of computer security topics such as digital forensics, incident response, application security and malware analysis.
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP).
- Previous experience supporting a government and/or Department of Defense customer.
Target Salary Range$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
