The Role

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to support the implementation, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of enterprise IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for day-to-day operations across servers, cloud and on-prem systems, identity and access management, endpoint administration, monitoring, patching, backup, and user support. This person will help ensure systems remain secure, available, and well-managed by following established standards, documenting procedures, troubleshooting issues, and executing repeatable operational tasks. You will be responsible for maintaining the technical environment, supporting reliable service delivery, and assisting with the operational processes required to keep IT running effectively across a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments, including servers, core services, and business-critical systems.
  • Serve as an escalation point for the helpdesk team by troubleshooting and resolving advanced infrastructure, system, and endpoint issues in a timely manner.
  • Manage user accounts, group policies, permissions, and identity services to ensure secure and reliable access to company resources.
  • Perform routine system maintenance activities such as patching, backups, upgrades, monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Support endpoint and device management processes, including provisioning, configuration, software deployment, and standards enforcement.
  • Create and maintain accurate system documentation, operational procedures, inventory records, knowledge base content, and configuration standards to support consistent administration and support.
  • Assist with security and compliance efforts by applying hardening standards, responding to operational findings, and supporting audit readiness.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of systems administration, infrastructure administration.
  • Experience supporting core infrastructure services such as Active Directory, Microsoft 365, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, file services, and endpoint management platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, operating systems, identity, networking, and endpoint devices, with the ability to serve as an escalation point for helpdesk issues.
  • Working knowledge of security best practices, patch management, backup and recovery, access control, and system hardening.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and support knowledge base materials.
  • Strong communication and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in regulated or compliance-driven environments such as defense, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar industries.
  • Exposure to security and compliance frameworks including NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or related standards.
  • Experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments that include both on-premises systems and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP.
  • Familiarity with enterprise endpoint management, mobile device management, and software deployment tools such as Microsoft Intune, Jamf, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms, backup systems, and infrastructure monitoring tools in a production environment.
  • Working knowledge of scripting or automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar tools to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Experience developing or improving technical documentation, operational runbooks, and internal knowledge base content.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, or cloud platform certifications are a plus.
