System Tester

Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Clearance: Current Top Secret, with the ability to obtain SCI access

Work Arrangement: Full-time onsite, 4x10 schedule

Position Overview

DSI has an immediate opening for a highly motivated Test Analyst to support the planning, execution, and assessment of flight and ground test events. The selected candidate will help GAITS CFPT evaluate test success by defining mission objectives, identifying required resources, developing data collection and analysis plans, and preparing post-mission reports.

This position will also serve in a Test Director capacity, coordinating experiments, maintaining the test architecture, managing test resources, and acting as the Integration and Test liaison to participating organizations and government customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize, plan, and participate in flight and ground test events.
  • Identify the personnel, systems, tools, and other resources required for each event.
  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of mission objectives for the systems under test.
  • Create data archival, collection, and analysis plans.
  • Prepare post-mission reports and communicate test findings.
  • Maintain configuration management and control of test resources, test articles, and data-collection tools.
  • Serve as the Integration and Test liaison to program test participants and MDA/BCT test managers.
  • Coordinate with experiment project leads to ensure seamless execution across the full Integration and Test mission.
  • Develop and maintain the test architecture, including all articles under test.
  • Develop supplemental test procedures needed for successful event execution.
  • Lead portions of engineering activities and coordinate the work of other engineers.
  • Develop and implement engineering plans within the project.
  • Present technical approaches, findings, and test perspectives to system architects, software designers, testers, support personnel, government customers, and personnel from other MDA programs.
Required Qualifications
  • At least three years of related experience, including two or more years in a relevant engineering environment.
  • Relevant postsecondary education or technical training may be considered.
  • Current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI access.
  • Experience with flight or ground test planning, execution, and assessment.
  • Understanding of systems engineering processes, system design and development, and logistics principles.
  • Experience producing engineering artifacts such as specifications, Interface Control Documents, System Architecture Descriptions, use cases, and trade studies.
  • Experience defining and integrating systems of systems.
  • Ability to analyze high-level needs and refine them through a structured, logical process into an integrated set of requirements that supports a fielded product.
  • Experience working in an integrated environment with systems, software, and specialty engineers using National Team or comparable processes and methods.
  • Familiarity with event approval structures and support processes, including MDIOC, BMDSS, the MDA/BC approval chain, and National Team engineering boards such as PERB and CEAT.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop technical briefings and clearly communicate complex ideas in writing.
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a small technical team, learn quickly, and adapt to changing technologies.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to direct portions of engineering activities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with approval boards or test-sponsoring organizations such as JIAMDO, AFSPC, and JFCC-IMD.
  • Experience interacting with JAT, MDDC, and related organizations.
  • Experience operating C2BMC, including knowledge of system configurations, display navigation, and operational concepts.
  • Experience with ballistic missile defense systems.
  • Knowledge of network applications and networking concepts.
  • Familiarity with missile defense systems such as AN/TPY-2, SBIRS/BOA, Aegis, THAAD, Patriot, and SBX, including their operational characteristics.
  • Experience with Unix or Linux command-line environments and Bash or Perl scripting.
  • Knowledge of statistics and test-data analysis methods.
  • Technical writing and test-procedure development experience.
  • Space, C2BMC, or missile defense experience.
  • Experience with Agile development and automated testing frameworks.
  • Experience analyzing requirements and verification spreadsheets.
  • Experience developing Java software or Python scripts for data analysis.
