Summary:The sterile processing system manager works under the direction of the system AVP for surgical services to manage the activities, operations, strategy, and performance of the sterile processing department at multiple campuses. This role needs a deep understanding of decontamination processes, sterilization methods, and surgical instrument tracking systems along with flexible scope guidelines. Responsible for managing all processes associated with cleaning, assembly and sterilization of surgical instrumentation and GI scopes, as well as storage of items. This role also supervises sterile processing for the BHIP location. It is important for this leader to be seen as a change agent, collaborative, team player, accountable, and a coach that is innovative.
Education:- Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:- 5-7 years of experience working in sterile processing.
- 5 years of supervisory experience in sterile processing.
Credentials:- Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
- Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) or Certified Sterile Processing Management (CSPM).
- Within 12 months of hire: Certified Endoscopic Reprocessor (CER) or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER).
Special Training:- Experience in project management and strategic initiatives.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse staff members and stakeholders and promote a culture of inclusion and patient-centered care.
- Ability to use the Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and navigate in Teams.
- EPIC Experience a preferred.
