System Integration and Test Lead

Job description

The day-to-day
  • Collaborate with Integrated Product and Product Management teams to adjust test coverage and align to customer user cases
  • Develop comprehensive test plans covering functional, integration, performance, and interoperability testing.
  • Ensure alignment with product requirements and industry standards (e.g., IEEE, RFCs).
  • Lead and mentor a team of system and software test engineers across multiple projects.
  • Assign tasks, review test cases, and ensure timely execution of test cycles.
  • Oversee execution of system and automated test cases.
  • Validate end-to-end system functionality including Layer 2/3 protocols.
  • Perform regression, robustness, and stress testing.
  • Actively participate in the debugging process, performing deep-level root cause analysis for complex defects. Work alongside development teams to resolve issues and prevent future recurrences.
  • Maintain detailed records of test results, defects, and coverage metrics.
  • Generate test reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Define and own system-level test strategies for networking products and systems
  • Complete various tests, analyze data, and detail the results.
  • Using Python to automate both the execution of tests as well as the test procedure and test report documentation.

What you'll need
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related subject area
  • 13+ years in system testing, with 3+ years in a leadership role
  • 2+ years of experience in scripting language to develop automation. C/C++/C#, or Python.
  • Experience ensuring that testing activities align with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and manage testing-related budget/costs.
  • Experience creating verification cross reference matrixes in an enterprise requirements management system (DOORS, JAMA, etc).
  • Experience in authoring and maintaining automated test procedures, technical reports, and supporting documentation in alignment with acceptance, qualification, certification, and functional testing standards.
  • Experience with networking protocols and systems, e.g., TCP/IP, SNMP, DHCP, DNS, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), Wireshark, etc.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Must be a United States Citizen
  • Active United States Secret Clearance required
  • This is an on-site position located in Carlsbad, CA.
What will help you on the job
  • Proficient with data acquisition systems and test tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, oscilloscopes, network analyzers).
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Scrum).
  • Experience in transition-to-production efforts.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD, IPC, or similar industry standards.
