The Systems Engineer will research, test, evaluate, design, implement, market, train and support enterprise solutions to be offered as new services and to improve existing services. The Systems Engineer will build large-scale solutions, be an expert in OS platforms and work with the latest technologies. The Systems Engineer will design highly scalable, distributed systems, while combining vendor and open source tools across hosting providers.

What You'll Be Doing

35% Systems Engineering: Implement enterprise level, secure, resilient systems and tools. Package these solutions with auditing, security, alerting, high availability and tuning. Build powerful systems, using multiple platforms, to support the creation of new services for our customers to consume. Apply technologies to solve business problems and to develop innovative solutions. Architect and build key components of system solutions and tackle fundamental technical challenges. Use DevOps skills to improve existing services through automation and scripting.

35% Systems Engineering: Make decisions on hardware and software design, prioritize work based on value add and customer input and implement solutions, in partnership with customers, on premises or in the cloud. Develop prototypes, proof of concepts and deployment strategies, in collaborations with other teams, for the selected solutions. Leverage best practices in continuous integration and delivery. Organize action plans to lead teams to their goals. Help shape the organization's culture, values and strategy.

30% Service Offering: Function as a subject matter expert for OS platform service offerings. Responsible for on call for core services offered. Responsible for working with other teams on system issues specific to service offering. Handle all knowledge share, training, documentation and showcase sessions. Tune solutions to improve performance and user experience. Present solutions and recommendations to different levels of key business and technical stakeholders. Build strong relationships with our customers and other MITS teams. Stay up to date on the latest technologies. Implement solutions in cloud computing environments.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent work-related experience.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in systems engineering.
• Strong server systems experience in Microsoft server products and services required.
• Complex problem-solving skills. Able to be challenged and collaborate to bring value to a team.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, strong coordination and project skills.
• Strong customer experience mindset, listening, understanding and responding to customer needs.
• After-hours on call availability, as needed.

Nice To Have

• Strong infrastructure scription experience required. Powershell experience preferred.
• Cloud Infrastructure as Code (IAC) experience required. Terraform experience preferred.
• Web services management, including load balancing, encryption and security preferred.
• Cloud native infrastructure experience preferred.

• This is a hybrid role based in Fenton, MO (Tuesday | Wednesday | Thursday) for candidates in the St. Louis area.
