Lonza Bend is seeking a System Engineer. In this role, you will provide technical ownership of critical manufacturing equipment, supporting safe, reliable, and high-quality pharmaceutical production while improving overall equipment performance.
This is a site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the technical precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest quality and safety standards.

What you will do:- Own and support pharmaceutical process equipment in a GMP manufacturing environment, including spray dryers and solid dosage systems.
- Provide hands-on engineering support to manufacturing, quality, and reliability teams.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, process, automation, and electrical issues using structured problem-solving methods.
- Act as a subject matter expert for equipment performance, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Support capital projects from design through commissioning and qualification.
- Partner with teams to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and maintainability.
- Ensure equipment meets safety, regulatory, and GMP compliance standards.
What we are looking for:- High school diploma or GED required; an engineering degree is preferred.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills using root cause analysis and structured troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across diverse teams.
- Ability to balance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity priorities.
