Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of enterprise data governance, data strategy, and large-scale infrastructure (network, storage, compute, virtualization)
  • Deep experience designing and implementing Zero Trust architectures, including identity-centric security, micro-segmentation, and continuous monitoring
  • Strong knowledge of secure system design aligned to federal security frameworks (e.g., RMF, ATO processes)
  • Proven experience with automation and orchestration frameworks (Infrastructure as Code, Configuration as Code, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Experience implementing automated security controls, compliance validation, and policy enforcement
  • Ability to translate mission and business objectives into scalable, secure, and automated architecture solutions
  • Proficient in cloud architecture and design across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS environments (Azure Government, AWS GovCloud, or similar)
  • Experience with Red Hat ecosystem (OpenShift, container platforms, and platform engineering)
  • Expertise in data architecture, including data ingestion, transformation, integration, and governance patterns
  • Strong understanding of data movement, automation pipelines, and interoperability patterns across distributed environments
  • Proven ability to develop conceptual, logical, and high-level designs (HLD/LLD)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills in complex, high-security environments
  • Demonstrated experience working across engineering, operations, security, and leadership stakeholders

Certain states and localities require employers to post a reasonable estimate of salary range. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $120,000.00 to $150,000.00 annually. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including shift, location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base pay.

What you will be doing:

The System Architect is a technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and delivering secure, scalable, and mission-aligned technology solutions that enable enterprise transformation. This role focuses on developing resilient architectures that support complex, high-security environments, ensuring interoperability across data, applications, and infrastructure.

This individual leads the creation of enterprise architecture strategies, data integration frameworks, and implementation roadmaps that enable organizations to operationalize strategic initiatives. The System Architect applies Zero Trust principles across all layers of the architecture, ensuring secure access, continuous verification, and repeatable, scalable operations in distributed environments.

This is a unique opportunity to support U.S. Government customers and mission-critical environments, with potential exposure to commercial engagements based on business needs. Candidates with an active Top Secret SCI security clearance are strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead architecture engagements to define current state, target state, and transition roadmaps aligned to mission objectives
  • Develop and deliver enterprise architecture blueprints that integrate infrastructure, data, applications, security, and automation
  • Design and implement Zero Trust-aligned architectures, ensuring secure access, identity enforcement, and data protection across all layers
  • Establish and drive an automation-first approach, leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC), pipeline automation, and policy-driven orchestration
  • Architect solutions that deliver high availability, performance, resiliency, security, and operational efficiency through automation
  • Develop and implement automated deployment pipelines (CI/CD) for infrastructure, platforms, and applications
  • Enable continuous compliance and monitoring through automated validation, security scanning, and policy enforcement
  • Conduct architecture workshops and technical deep dives to align stakeholders and accelerate solution adoption
  • Provide technical leadership across initiatives spanning cybersecurity, data platforms, analytics, AI/ML, automation, and application modernization
  • Guide engineering teams through solution design, integration, and automated implementation, ensuring alignment to architectural standards
  • Drive data integration and automated data pipeline strategies to enable enterprise-wide data access and decision-making
  • Mentor junior engineers and architects, promoting automation best practices and engineering discipline
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure security, compliance, automation, and operational readiness are embedded in all solutions
