Are you looking for a Challenge? Looking for an innovative organization and the opportunity to learn and grow professionally? We can help! We are seeking a System Administrator for the IT Technology Services contract. This project will provide IT service desk, systems, network, and security operations support for Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR), supporting end users, Microsoft infrastructure, and mission-critical business systems in hybrid work environments. This position is remote/hybrid; candidates must be willing to work on-site at the Central UNICOR office in Washington, DC when required; work hours are from Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day. Travel to remote locations is required. This position is contingent upon contract award.

So, what will the System Administrator at Terrestris do?

As the System Administrator you will be a key person for the IT Technology Services contract. This position is responsible for managing Information Technology infrastructure systems operating in a Microsoft Windows environment.

What does a typical day look like for a System Administrator?

You will:
  • Perform all duties assigned to Level I Technicians, including user workstation support for desktops, laptops, 10Zig zero clients, and mobile thin clients.
  • Manage user and system accounts across Microsoft Windows infrastructure environments.
  • Troubleshoot workstations and servers operating in both physical and virtual environments.
  • Install hardware, software, and system updates to support operational requirements.
  • Configure Windows operating systems and maintain system settings in accordance with approved standards.
  • Perform patch management activities to ensure systems remain current and secure.
  • Assess and remediate vulnerabilities by identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
  • Configure and troubleshoot workstation peripherals while providing technical support at remote locations as required.

What qualifications do you look for?

  • A minimum of (5) years of IT experience.
  • Certifications: CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) and Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certifications can be substituted for 2 years of IT work experience.
