Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The System Administrator - Clinical Systems is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, optimization, and support of the organization's clinical systems, including the Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. This role ensures system reliability, data integrity, and alignment with clinical and operational workflows across a multi-site/state behavioral health environment.

The Systems Administrator is Responsible for:

System Administration & Support
  1. Administer, configure, and maintain the EHR platform and ancillary tools.
  2. Manage user access, roles, permissions, and security controls.
  3. Monitor system performance, uptime, and interface integrations; proactively resolve issues.
  4. Serve as initial point of contact for EHR-related support issues across all system domains.


System Configuration
  1. Translate clinical and operational workflows into EHR and other application configurations.
  2. Collaborate with Business Analyst(s) and/or Vendor to design and maintain templates, forms, assessments, documentation, etc....
  3. Support efforts to reduce administrative burden and improve patient experience through system optimization.


Data Management & Reporting
  1. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across clinical platforms.
  2. Develop and maintain standard and ad hoc reports including state reporting extracts.
  3. Support regulatory reporting, audits, and quality initiatives.


Integration & Interoperability
  1. Support interfaces with external systems (labs, billing, HIEs, telehealth, etc.).
  2. Troubleshoot and maintain data exchange processes (HL7, APIs, flat files).
  3. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on integration design and issue resolution.


Release Management & Vendor Coordination
  1. Manage system updates, patches, and new feature releases.
  2. Evaluate vendor enhancements and determine organizational impact.
  3. Coordinate testing, training, and deployment of new functionality.
  4. Serve as primary point of contact for clinical system vendor support and escalation.
  5. Supports and adheres to change management and application governance best practices.


Training and Change Management
  1. Support end-user training programs and onboarding.
  2. Develop documentation, job aids, and system guides.
  3. Supports adoption of new features and workflow changes through structured change management.
  4. Maintains a strong knowledge of business needs associated to supported system(s) to engage effectively in driving system enhancements, support resolution(s), enhancements, project work, etc.
  5. Invests in personal training to maintain expertise within applicable application(s), functionality and behavioral health clinical and technology standards.


REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field.
  • 3 or more years of experience supporting an Electronic Health Record (EHR) for a behavioral health provider. Prior experience in EHR implementation project(s) preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare; strong understanding of behavioral health workflows preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    1. EHR configuration and user administration
    2. Reporting tools (SQL, built-in reporting modules, or Power BI preferred)
    3. Active Directory/MS Entra ID
    4. System troubleshooting and issue resolution
  • Proven experience in a support capacity adhering to SLAs and operating within an ITIL framework.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills. Proficient in verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills to collaborate with business stakeholders, manage difficult situations and engage a team in pursuit of objectives.
  • Effective organization skills to ensure deadlines are met across multiple concurrent projects, ability to lead initiatives and small projects as well as engage as a project team member.
  • Technical expertise in:
    1. Behavioral health EHR vendors/systems
    2. Crystal Reporting, SQL and BI tools
    3. System integrations and interoperability standards (APIs, middleware, file-based data exchanges, HL7/FHIR, HIEs, etc.)
    4. Microsoft 365 and collaboration platforms
    5. Artificial Intelligence, including but not limited to applications within behavioral health applications and workflows
    6. Active Directory/MS Entra ID

Compensation:
  • 80,000 - 97,000 based on experience

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 20 pounds).
  • The ability to communicate effectively and visually review information is necessary.
